LITTLE STORIES EVERYWHERE

There is in fact a story behind this series. Before these paintings, I would obliterate anything at all that looked representational. Believing that ‘abstract artists’ don’t make paintings that ‘look’ like something.

I attended an art workshop in Marrakesh and met the most wonderful bunch of people all finding their way the same as me. We shared story after story, unpacked feelings and obstacles, allowed emotions to rise and fall. The whole experience took away my resistance to simply allowing the painting to become what it will. Once the gate was opened, a plethora of stories unfolded on the canvas.
